RIO TAKAHASHI
Rio Takahashi is a Senior graphic design major at the High School of Art and Design. They have been immersed in creative spaces since a child and always knew they would want to go to a high school of the arts. Takahashi works in the graphic design department of A.N.D Advertising Agency as a designer. They strive to become a leader in the agency team in the future and hopes to major in graphic design in college as well. Along with the arts, Takahashi also excels in all academic classes and participates in the high school GSA to create a safe space for queer students within the school. Takahashi loves using design to spread awareness and provoke positive actions so they cannot wait to not only promote social change through design but also teach kids the importance of graphic design in this world with the Caelo Organization.
LAURA MARMOL
Hello! My name is Laura Marmol, I am currently a Senior at High School of Art and Design, majoring in Graphic Design. The main reason why I love Graphic Design is because of the problem-solving dynamics involved in it and the process of finding an artistic solution to visually speak about a social issue. My most recent award was a three-year scholarship at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, I am in my second year there, happy and grateful to be learning different art classes apart from my major at my High School. I am also part of AND Creates, a club/internship at my High School run by our wonderful teacher Mr. Landegger, we are a team structured by students from different majors, we work with different clients to make advertising campaigns for their brands. Lastly, one fun fact about me is that I'm bilingual, so, don't hesitate to talk with me in Spanish or English!
KAEDE RYUKO
Kaede Ryuko is a Senior majoring in Graphic Design at the High School of Art and Design. She is certified in Adobe Photoshop and is skilled in Illustrator and InDesign. She has participated in projects with companies such as Penguin Publishing, BBDO, and Warner Music. Her art has been featured at MoMa and has been published in Celebrating Arts. She is excited to step out of her comfort zone and step into the world of teaching.
